Fluorescent Cadmium Chalcogenide Nanoclusters in Ubiquitin
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fluorescent Nanoclusters Cover image represents the fluorescent cadmium chalcogenide nanoclusters (CdNCs) synthesized in ubiquitin (Ub) under mild reaction conditions. The results indicate that even a small cysteine-free protein, namely Ub, has ability to be used CdNCs stabilization by forming oligomeric and hydrated species. More details can found article number 2000127 Helmut Cölfen co-workers.

Water-soluble fluorescent silver nanoclusters.
Ag nanoclusters consist of several to roughly a hundred atoms and possess sizes comparable to the Fermi wavelength of electrons; they exhibit molecule-like properties, including discrete electronic transitions and strong fluorescence. These nanoclusters are of significant interest because they provide the bridge between atomic and nanoparticle behavior in noble metals. Since the first observati...
متن کاملSonochemical synthesis of highly fluorescent ag nanoclusters.
Highly fluorescent, stable, water-soluble Ag nanoclusters have been successfully prepared via a convenient sonochemical approach using a simple polyelectrolyte, polymethylacrylic acid (PMAA), as a capping agent. The optical and fluorescence properties of the Ag nanoclusters can be easily controlled by varying the synthetic conditions, such as sonication time, stoichiometry of the carboxylate gr...
متن کاملGreen Synthesis of Fluorescent Palladium Nanoclusters
Metal nanoclusters, with dimensions between atomic and nanoparticles, have attracted a great deal of attention due to their significantly unusual properties. Water-soluble palladium nanoclusters (Pd NCs) with blue-green fluorescence were synthesized by a water bath heating method, with methionine as a stabilizer and ascorbic acid as a reducing agent. We investigated the optimal synthesis condit...
متن کاملCytotoxicity of nucleus-targeting fluorescent gold nanoclusters.
Gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) with ultra small sizes and unique fluorescence properties have shown promising potential for imaging the nuclei of living cells. However, little is known regarding the potential cytotoxicity of AuNCs after they enter the cell nucleus. The aim of this study is to investigate whether and how nucleus-targeting AuNCs affect the normal functioning of cells. Highly stable, w...
متن کاملA complementary palette of fluorescent silver nanoclusters.
We report the synthesis and photophysical properties of silver-nanoclusters templated on DNA, with fluorescence excitation and emission at distinct wavelengths that are tuned to common laser excitation wavelengths.
